Requires a published site with a connected domain
Custom code runs on a published site with a connected domain; connecting a domain requires a paid Wix plan.
The Wix article on custom code puts the condition like this: the site must be published and have a connected domain. It names no separate «plan for code».
Connecting your own domain, per the Wix help center, is what a paid (Premium) plan unlocks. The practical conclusion for a site owner: on a free site with a Wix subdomain address the custom code field will not help you.
Wix plan line-ups change — check the Wix help center links below before you buy.
Menu names and plan requirements on this page come from the official help center:

Standard widgets: chat, contact button, appointments
<script src="https://cdn.meni.ge/site/v1.js" data-domain="your-site.com" async></script> Example tag for standard widgets. Use your own dashboard code, not this demonstration domain. To block analytics, follow the separate instructions below. Cookie consent and analytics: a separate installation order →
In your Meni.ge dashboard: Admin panel → Marketing → «My Website». Enter your site address in the first field and copy the tag.
The Wix help center states it as a condition: custom code works on a published site with a connected domain.
In your site dashboard: Settings → Development & integrations → Custom Code.
Press «+ Add Custom Code», paste the tag and give the snippet a name you will recognise later.
Apply it to All pages, load once, and set the placement to Head. Save.
Press Publish, open the live site and go back to «My Website» → «Check installation».
The Wix help center warns that snippets are tied to a specific domain — assign a different domain to the site and they are deleted. After a domain change, paste the tag again.
For strict opt-in, copy the dedicated consent tag from cookie banner settings and place it first in head, without async or defer, before analytics and advertising scripts. The shared async tag does not guarantee blocking before consent.
<script src="https://cdn.meni.ge/consent/v1.js" data-domain="your-site.com"></script> Check theme code, plugins, GTM and native platform integrations. If the platform cannot run consent before them, an external tag is not enough: configure consent in the integration itself.
In opt-in, known trackers are blocked; unknown scripts need manual markup following the CMP guide. The tag cannot stop code that has already run, server Set-Cookie headers or service workers.
On the published site, open a clean session and Network: before a choice and after rejection, check that trackers intended to be blocked make no requests. Then accept the relevant category, check loading and change the choice. A visible banner and the HTML installation check do not prove blocking.
In site builders your edit lives in a draft: until the pages are republished, the tag is not on the live site.
Admin panel → Marketing → «My Website». Put your site address in the first field and press «Check installation».
The check reads the page’s source HTML and lists the widgets it found. A tag injected through Google Tag Manager stays invisible to it — that is a limit of the check, not of the install.
Install errors and how to fix them — in the help center Installation guide →
Choose only the missing function. Two chats can overlap; installing the Meni.ge appointment widget does not itself sync a Wix Bookings schedule.
Wix binds custom code to the domain and deletes snippets when it changes. Add the code for the correct domain again and check the published site.
Wix directs Google Analytics, GTM and advertising pixels to Marketing integrations. Do not simply move them into Custom Code or assume that an external consent tag automatically controls native integrations.
Check the domain, publishing and whether both snippet and widget are enabled. Wix security rules restrict third-party code; if the console reports blocking, save the error for support. Test page navigation and mobile layout.
This installation method requires a published site with a connected domain. Check a Wix plan with domain connection before configuring the widget.
Use site-level Custom Code for floating widgets. An HTML iframe is a separate area of the page, not a replacement for code in the site head.
The standard tag goes in Custom Code → Head → your selected pages. Consent that blocks before a choice requires its own tag before trackers and checks of native integrations.
No. Keep Wix Bookings and enable just chat or a contact button. Installation does not transfer appointments or merge calendars automatically.
Shadow DOM isolates styling, but does not remove Wix restrictions or behavioral conflicts. Test the published site, mobile layout and navigation between pages.
To block trackers before consent, place a separate consent/v1.js first in head without async/defer. Test loading before a choice, after rejection and after acceptance. Native platform analytics may need separate configuration; a visible banner does not establish legal compliance.
